A process server delivers legal documents such as summons, complaint, subpoena, in order for the defendant (and other involved parties) to appear and argue against a proposed order. So-called "substituted service" can be accomplished when a process server leaves the documents with an adult that resides in the same home as the individual being served. In certain situations, an employee in a management role can also be served if the client desires.
